Indonesian Nasi Goreng Mawut

It was Tuesday morning I went to see my dentist for the 2nd time. That day was such a hard day because my cheekbones were drilled for teeth implant. Was it painful? Aargh… if that is a question, I won’t tell the truth though. Well, of course it wasn’t painful at all at least the anaesthetic remains. Let me stop talking about the pain okay?!

Instead of listening to my dentist who advised to eat soup for at least the first day, I cooked Indonesian nasi goreng mawut. It doesn’t mean that I can’t live without eating rice, no way man. Everyone knows Nasi Goreng (Fried Rice) because it becomes one of the very common dishes in Indonesia or in Asia. However, you probably are keen to know about what “Mawut” actually means. Based on Indonesian dictionary, it means – scatter, an applied Javanese word into Bahasa – our national language.

The first time I’ve heard the name of Nasi Goreng Mawut was when I was in Semarang, Central Java. It was a business trip. Dinner time came and I went to a restaurant with my business partner. I chose Nasi Goreng Mawut. The food was served and I discovered that… it was mixed between Nasi and Noodles more or less in an equal portion then they were fried together. It contains Nasi, Noodles, Scrambleg eggs, carrots that I added to it as a creative idea.

Let’s come back to my cooking porn skills. Regardless of what the dentis said, I went to a shop and bought noodles (brand: Bali Kitchen) and back to my flat then cooked it. You don’t have to worry about my cooking skills – you can count on me. It tasted deliciously. Nonetheless, there was an issue – I couldn’t chew them with my teeth at both sides because my cheek bones had just been operated. There are some stitches in my gum. How do chew them then of course I exercised my front teeth but… oh my god it was not comfortable at all though I was full up afterwards.

Next time, let me cook you the Indonesian Nasi Goreng Mawut, but only if you’re nice with me. LoL. In the 2nd photo, you see how I decorate my plate and in the 1st photo it shows that they are ready to be eaten up. Fresh tomatoes, cucumber and Indonesian Kroepoek or chips were side dishes. The beverage is simply mixed juices.

Let me know if you like it. 😉
